Description

The Country Club of Virginia is looking for a talented Practice Facility/Golf Course Maintenance Foreman for its newly renovated Tuckahoe Practice Range, located at the James River Golf Course. 

CCV is a full-service private club located in Richmond, Virginia, and is perpetually recognized as one of the top clubs in America as a result of its remarkable membership, world-class facilities, and exceptional staff.

The club’s 7,600+ members support 1,111 acres containing two superb clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, racquet sports, fitness, aquatics, and multiple dining outlets and special event venues. In season, CCV employs a staff of over 600 and has an operating budget in excess of $30 million.


SUMMARY/EXPECTATIONS: 
- Provide leadership for the golf maintenance staff while overseeing the maintenance and performing technical responsibilities for the Tuckahoe Creek Practice Facility and Golf Course, ensuring a consistent, quality experience for members and guests
- Provide platinum service while maintaining a clean and safe environment for members, guests, and staff
- Know and embrace the mission statement and platinum service basics

SCHEDULE:
- The schedule is typically 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Monday-Friday, with every other weekend required from 6:00 AM-11:00AM. The demands of the job will require more than 40 hours per week, and will include work on the weekends and holidays 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: include the following (other duties may be assigned):
- Understand and perform all aspects of golf course maintenance
- Monitor daily records and maintain inventory, ensuring inventory of equipment and keys
- Conduct daily facility inspections of golf course and maintenance areas for vandalism and environmental/safety concerns
- Coach and train staff on correct operation of equipment and maintenance standards; plan and assign work. Provide feedback to Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent on employee performance
- Apply fertilizers/pesticides
- Monitor and maintain correct soil moisture in greens
- Attend and assist with staff meetings and line-ups
- Assist in completing daily project schedules for maintenance staff while also instructing them on standard procedures 
- Display dedication and teamwork
- Assist with implementation of the agronomic plan
- Set up and utilize computer and radio-controlled irrigation system
- Attend Professional Development Seminars and display a desire to grow as a professional
- Drive H-2B employees to and from work site as needed
- Assist in snow removal
- Work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed 


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience in golf course maintenance and/or training required. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus. 

REQUIREMENTS:
- Certified Pesticide Applicator
- CPR and First Aid (training provided if necessary)
- Must have a valid driver's license and be 18 years old to drive motor vehicles. Must provide clean driving record at interview and maintain acceptable driving record after employment. 

EQUIPMENT USED:
Toro Lynx irrigation system, weedeater, push mower, flymower, small power tools, general maintenance equipment, tractors, loaders, trenchers, mowers, sprayers, and computers.
