The Country Club of Virginia is seeking a Manager to oversee the Housekeeping, Laundry, Locker Rooms, and Banquet Set-up operations for the entire Westhampton property as the current manager retires. Ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation in all areas is a key responsibility.

Club Profile

The Country Club of Virginia is one of the oldest and finest private, member-owned clubs and has been consistently ranked among America’s “Platinum” country clubs by the Club Leaders Forum. Located in Richmond, CCV was organized in 1908, and has always been one of the nation’s largest full-service country clubs. The Club’s 7,600+ members support 1,111 acres with two beautiful clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, racquet sports, youth activities, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and an aquatics complex. In season, CCV employs a staff of more than 600.

The Country Club of Virginia is the host site of the PGA TOUR Champions Dominion Energy Charity Classic golf tournament.

As a not-for-profit club with a $30 million operating budget, CCV has a very strong financial position, with meaningful capital reserved for regular reinvestment in and expansion of its facilities. The Club’s conservative fiscal policies and strong membership base allow for achievable financial expectations and provide operating budgets consistent with its high standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and manage a staff of approximately 30-40, including an assistant manager and supervisors

  • Create and successfully meet departmental budgets

  • Control inventories of supplies, linens, and equipment

  • Oversee the set-up and break-down of facilities for banquet functions

  • Ensure proper maintenance and repair of furniture, carpets, and other accessories in the clubhouse

  • Properly care for and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring appropriate staff training

  • Conduct routine inspections to guarantee cleanliness and proper presentation in all areas

  • Manage the Club’s relationship with and expectations of a third party cleaning contractor

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, college degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required
  • Proficiency in verbal and written communication is expected

  • Private club exposure helpful but not essential
