Fitness Director

The Country Club of Virginia is a full-service private club located in Richmond, Virginia. CCV is perpetually recognized as one of the top clubs in America as a result of its remarkable membership, world-class facilities, and exceptional staff.

The club's 7,600+ members support 1,111 acres across two campuses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, racquet sports, youth activities, an aquatics complex, and multiple dining outlets and special event venues. After a 2018 renovation and expansion, CCV boasts a state-of-the-art 20,000-square foot fitness facility with a modern and vibrant restaurant. In season, CCV employs a staff of over 600 and has an operating budget in excess of $30 million. CCV serves as the host site of the PGA TOUR Champions Dominion Energy Charity Classic golf tournament. 

The Position
CCV is looking for an experienced Fitness Director to oversee the Fitness Center and Group Exercise department. Ideal candidates will have strong leadership skills, a service mentality, and the ability to recruit, train, and retain a strong team.

The newly renovated Fitness Center is approximately 20,000 square feet and features over 70 pieces of state-of-the-art cardio equipment, a functional workout area, two weight circuits, free weights, and four group exercise studios.

Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Fitness Director leads a Fitness Manager and a Group Exercise Manager and works closely with the Wellness Director.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Fitness Center, ensuring a quality experience for members

  • Ensure adequate staffing of desk and floor

  • Manage Group Exercise department

  • Develop trusting relationships with members and solicit their feedback

  • Respond to member complaints, ensuring satisfactory outcomes

  • Assist Athletics Director with budgeting; adhere to budget guidelines

  • Maintain equipment; research and recommend new equipment as needed

  • See that facilities are well maintained with the highest standards for safety and cleanliness
