SUMMARY: Provide friendly, courteous service to members and guests visiting The Club and over the telephone.

EXPECTATIONS:
 
  • Provide platinum service while maintaining a clean and safe environment for members, guests, and staff
  • Know and embrace the mission statement and platinum service basics

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
 
  • Greet members and guests warmly
  • Answer phones on multi-line switchboard and direct calls to appropriate party
  • Stay apprised of Club events, programs, and activities and report member involvement to Club Manager
  • Page employees
  • Take and distribute messages
  • Sort mail for all departments and facilitate interoffice mail delivery to James River Clubhouse
  • Operate fax machine and other standard office equipment
  • Maintain lost and found items, logbook, and petty cash
  • Record and confirm reservations for Ollie’s, Bridge, and Club functions
  • Maintain, distribute, and track approximately 45 sets of keys
  • Operate and adjust sound system and lighting
  • Monitor security cameras
  • Serve as 911 contact during Club emergencies
  • Assist members and guests with directions and escort to destination if needed
  • Monitor phone system and report all problems to Member Services Manager
  • Assist Member Services Manager with projects and memos
  • Check in and retrieve coats and other personal belongings for members and guests
  • Give each member and guest a fond farewell
  • Understand and enforce member and guest Club policies as needed
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
 
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent verbal communication skills

SCHEDULE: Part-time, approximately 14-21 hours per week. Schedule is from 3:00PM-10:00PM Thursday and Friday. Saturday and Sunday shifts vary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent and experience operating a multi-line phone system required. Experience using a paging system strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand for lengthy periods of time and walk. The employee is occasionally required to lift/move up to 10lbs unassisted. Employee is also required to stand and reach with hands and arms and regularly use hands and fingers.
