The Country Club of Virginia is seeking a Membership Coordinator. The Membership Coordinator’s core duties are centered on facilitating the movement of existing members through membership categories and ensuring timely and correct billing of monthly dues and annual initiation fee installments. Administering membership-related Club policies is also an essential duty of the Membership Coordinator in this highly procedural role. The ideal candidate will work seamlessly with the Membership Director to carry out the Club’s membership development initiatives. The Membership Department is structured such that the Membership Coordinator is an administrative, non-sales position, while the Membership Director is responsible for attracting and retaining members.
The Country Club of Virginia is one of the oldest and finest private, member-owned clubs and has been consistently ranked among America’s “Platinum” country clubs by the Club Leaders Forum. Located in Richmond, CCV was organized in 1908, and has always been one of the nation’s largest full-service country clubs. The Club’s 7,600+ members support 1,111 acres with two superb clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, racquet sports, youth activities, state-of-the-art fitness facilities, and an aquatics complex. The Country Club of Virginia is the host site of the PGA TOUR Champions Dominion Energy Charity Classic golf tournament.

The Club’s conservative fiscal policies and strong membership base allow for achievable financial expectations and provide operating budgets consistent with its high standards.
Key Expectations and Goals
The successful candidate will become an expert on the Club’s Constitution & Bylaws and the Club Rules, developing the ability to administer them effectively and consistently. Accurate recordkeeping and gracious but firm enforcement of rules and policies are required.
- Coordinate and facilitate the movement of members through the various membership categories
- Ensure accurate and timely billing of initiation fees and dues
- Produce reports and time-sensitive communications
- Administer Club policy regarding membership status and classification
- Maintain stockholder records and process stock sales and transfers
Ideal Candidate Profile
Ideal candidates will possess strong analytical, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills. Paralegal experience, as well as a basic understanding of accounting functions, may provide a competitive advantage. Having a positive attitude, being a team player and possessing the skills to effectively prioritize his or her workload are considered valuable attributes for the successful candidate.
Education and Experience
- College degree required
- Minimum of ten years of professional experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, especially Excel
- Proficiency in writing expected
- Private club exposure helpful but not essential
